How to filter and segment users

Rapidr lets you filter and segment important groups of customers, so you can filter and track the highest priority feedback. For example, you could create a segment of enterprise customers and view only the feedback that's important to them, or you could create a segment of hot prospects, loyal customers, accounts with ACV greater than $100K, or whatever you like.

Here’s how to filter and segment important groups of customers:

What is a segment?

A segment is a group of your customers defined by rules (or filters) that you set. Customers are automatically added to the segment every time the customer updates to match those rules.

We recommend creating a segment for every key group of customers you'd like to see feedback from - for example, paying customers, high-value customers, or even churned customers.

How to create a segment?

Use filters to identify groups of interest

To create a segment, first, you’ll need to define the filters. For example, if you want to create a segment of Paying users, filter for ‘plan is not trial’ and 'revenue is greater than zero'.

Give your segment a name (something easy to remember, like 'Paying users') . Your new segment will appear under the User segmentation section in your company settings.

Useful segments to create

The segments you create should be specific to your product. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Paying customers -  These are your customers on any paid plan. You should prioritize this group over the customers on the free plan.

Pro plan customers - These are your highest paying users or those on your most expensive plan. You should prioritize this group and ensure they receive your best possible service.

Trial users - These are the people currently trialing on a paid plan. You'll understand what your newly signed-up customers want. However, you shouldn't prioritize these features. Your filters for this segment might be something like: ‘Signed up less than 14 days ago’ and ‘Plan is free trial.'

Hot prospects - These are prospects who are active and are approaching a barrier. Your filters for this segment might be something like: ‘Plan is enterprise’ and ‘Signed up less than 30 days ago' and 'Salesforce account id has a value'

Loyal customers - You might want to create a list of loyal users for beta testing your new features. Your filters here might be: ‘Signed up more than 365 days ago' and 'last seen less than 30 days ago.'
